2020 Virtual Conference
August 2 - August 4

General Information

Due to the extraordinary circumstances associated with COVID-19 in New Mexico and surrounding states, NMNPC rescheduled our spring conference. Read the Education Committee's letter for more information.

The 2020 NMNPC Conference (re-scheduled to August 2-4) will include stimulating continuing education presentations, workshops and opportunities to network with your peers via the online virtual conference platform. Our keynote presentation will be Difficult Conversations: What NPs Need to Know by Anne Katz, PhD, RN, FAAN. Dr. Anne Katz is the certified sexuality counselor and Clinical Nurse Specialist at CancerCare Manitoba in Winnipeg, Canada. Dr. Katz is the immediate past editor of the Oncology Nursing Forum, the premier research journal of the Oncology Nursing Society. She was inducted into the American Academy of Nursing in 2014. She is also the Vice President for CANO, the Canadian Association for Oncology Nursing. Dr. Katz is the author of 13 books for health care providers and health care consumers on the topics of illness and sexuality, as well as cancer survivorship.

Conference Information

The virtual conference platform will provide some unique benefits. One of the most important is that the presentations will be available on demand on the platform for up to two weeks following the live online presentations. This will give participants great flexibility in completing the CE activity. More information on the virtual conference format will be available soon. Register by June 27th to avoid a late registration fee (use the register link upper left). Student members are eligible for a significantly reduced registration fee, but must submit a letter from their program director confirming student status in an NP program to finalize registration. NPs pursuing additional education are not eligible for the student rate. If you're not already a member of NMNPC, you may join now and be eligible for the member registration fee.

Workshops

New this year, are three workshops that have been added to the conference schedule. Thank you to the NMNPC Board of Directors who wished to include these advanced-level workshops on a number of popular topics including X-ray interpretation, EKG interpretation, and more, designed to support in-depth discussion and practical learning opportunities.
