Spring Conference Subsidies

General Information

NMNPC currently offers financial assistance for the spring conference in the form of subsidies to two members each year. These subsidies allow members who may not otherwise be able to benefit from the continuing education offered to attend the conference.


Application Information

The Scholarship Committee will begin accepting applications for the spring conference subsidies in October each year. The deadline to apply for one of the two full subsidies is March 20. We encourage all NPs in New Mexico to join NMNPC. Subsidy applicants must be members. Member dues are $100.00 annually. Applicants who are not currently members may join online prior to submitting the application. Applicants must submit:

  • The completed subsidy application.
  • Personal statement that applicant a) is a New Mexico resident and b) agrees to volunteer at the conference as needed.
  • Copy of license lookup from the NM Board of Nursing website verifying current unencumbered nursing license.
  • A concise narrative of 300 words or less describing why applicant wants to attend the conference, why she/he needs financial assistance, how the conference will advance applicant’s knowledge and how applicant intends to share the knowledge gained with colleagues. Applicants should put initials only (not full name) at the top of the narrative.
Applicants must submit the completed application and supporting documentation to the committee via email to contact@NMNPC.org by March 20.

Spring Conference Lacy Houdek Memorial Subsidy

General Information

NMNPC currently offers this subsidy in memory of Lacy Houdek, honoring her by recognizing a member who shares Lacy's view that rural primary care is important to those communities.


Application Information

The Scholarship Committee will begin accepting applications for the Lacy Houdek subsidy in October each year.The deadline to apply is March 20. We encourage all NPs in New Mexico to join NMNPC. Subsidy applicants must be members. Member dues are $100.00 annually. Applicants who are not currently members may join online prior to submitting the application. Applicants must submit:

  • The completed subsidy application.
  • Personal statement that applicant a) is a New Mexico resident and b) recognizes the importance rural primary care. (The Scholarship Committee gives preference to primary care providers practicing in a rural area.).
  • Copy of license lookup from the NM Board of Nursing website verifying current unencumbered nursing license.
  • A concise narrative of 300 words or less describing why applicant wants to attend the conference, where applicant practices, how the conference will advance applicant’s knowledge and how applicant intends to share the knowledge gained with colleagues. Applicants should put initials only (not full name) at the top of the narrative.
