New Mexico Voices for Children issued a special report in June. The Well-Being of Black Children in New Mexico outlines the status of black children within various parameters – economic well-being, health, education, and family and community – and compares it to the national perspective. The report concludes that New Mexico’s black children “fare better than the national average . . . on several indicators,” but points out that New Mexico “needs to make better, more targeted investments in all of our children of color.” The complete report is available here.
