Spotlight on Sonda Boulware

Sonda Boulware, DNP, ACNP has practiced in Las Cruces at Southwest Cardiology for 8 years. In addition to providing high-quality, evidenced-based care, she continuously promotes the importance of and need for nurse practitioners in healthcare. Sonda is the president for the Southern New Mexico Advanced Practice Nurses Group. She served as the President of NMNPC from 2015-2017 and continuously advocates for fair and equal practice, not only in Las Cruces, but also in New Mexico.

Sonda works with the Borell School of Osteopathic Medicine in Las Cruces to promote interprofessional collaboration educating the DO students about the importance of the NP role in healthcare, both in the inpatient and outpatient settings. She has precepted numerous nurse practitioner students in the community and she is a positive influence and mentor to many students and fellow NPs. Her profound passion for the profession is evident and demonstrated in her leadership of the local NP community.
